A new day and a couple more patents for the technology giant Apple. Even after just recently unveiling their newest and much talked about ( good and bad) mobile device theiPad, Apple is already looking towards the future and ways to improve their catalog of computing hand helds. Or so it seems by the looks of these newly released patents that were discovered by the Apple enthusiasts website Patiently Apple.
The first of the almost awe inspiring patents is the imaginative touch sensitive bezel or the “intelligent bezel” that could be applied to all iDevice such as the new iPad. The touch sensitive bezel is shown to be useful for a number of things including volume control, brightness, zoom or even controls for games by sliding a finger along the edge of theiDevice. This convenient feature would make using your iPhone or iPod Touch just that easier and plus make you feel just a little futuristic. The second patent describe a technology for tracking multi touch, palm tracking for recognition as hands approach, touch and slide across a multi-touch surface.
“Areas on the bezel are designated for controls used to operate the electronic device. Visual guides corresponding to the controls are displayed on the display adjacent the areas of the bezel designated for the controls. Touch data is generated by the bezel when a user touches an area of the bezel. The device determines which of the controls has been selected based on which designated area is associated with the touch data from the bezel. The device then initiates the determined control.” as the patent application states.
With all these amazing new patents filed and granted for Apple, we are sure to see more awesome products in the future.
