Calling All Cooks: A Review Of AllRecipes App DinnerSpinner

You should see the looks on the faces of my extended family when they taste the meals I have prepared for them with expressions of appreciation and then they ask, “where did you get this recipe” or “how did you learn to cook this” and when I respond with “my iPhone” the food begins to fall out of their mouth as their gaping pie holes drop open.
DinnerSpiner is one of my recent finds in the sea of apps from the App Store. This is a fun and easy app to use. This app has a spinner much like the one on Urban Spoon but instead of telling you where to go eat it gives you a selection of recipes.
One of my favorite components to this app is that AllRecipes allows you to leave feedback and comments about each recipe so that you sort of know what to expect and people often leave helpful tips and alterations to the recipe that can make all the difference. This is a free app.
DinnerSpinner has several other useful features such as favorites, a way you can save the recipes you love or a way to bookmark the recipes you plan to make latter. You don’t have to just spin and guess you can select from such categories, or compilation of categories, as Dish Type, Ingredients, and Ready in (cooking time). You can also search for recipes or select the featured recipes of the day.
The only drawback to this app is sometimes the limited amount of recipes and then having your iPhone around while you or cooking. I just hate touching my iPhone with dirty or wet fingers, ewe!
If you like to try out new recipes once in a while or you have trouble deciding what to make for dinner you iPhone with DinnerSpiner can make your life a little easier. Enjoy the looks on your relatives face when they realize the recipe came from your iPhone and not grandmas secret collection.
